McDonalds is not only known for great food and good value. It works hard to make sure that their suppliers are the best in the world as well. Because you deserve it.
Keystone Foods
In the ’60s Herb Lotman wanted to fine a way to freeze beef patties that would keep them fresh and at their peak. That lead him to create the new Quick Freeze process. Herb founded Keystone Foods, which today is one of the biggest food companies in the world. They make and deliver food to 13 countries, including North America, Asia, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle eAST.
McDonalds quickly developed the Chicken McNuggets, revolutionizing the way that Americans ate chicken. Nearly overnight, boneless chicken meat was in huge demand, and Keystone was there to fill the problem. Keystone offers the highest quality beef, chicken and fish products to McDonalds, which includes 400 million pounds of chicken, 260 million pounds of beef, and 25 million pounds of fish each year. They go above and beyond USDA regulations and go to meet McDonalds strict animal welfare, product safety and quality requirements.
Monopoly at McDonalds is one of the most famous food service related games in the world. There has been huge stories regarding it, everything from Fraud to great winnings.
For example, in 2000, the US promotion was paused after extensive fraud was uncovered. A subcontracting company by the name of Simon Marketing which was hired by McDonalds to organize and promote the event, failed to recognize a huge flaw in their procedures, and the chief of security, was able to remove the most expensive game pieces which he then passed along to associates who would redeem them and share the proceeds. His associates was able to collect from 1995 to 2000 the top prizes. Claiming nearly $24 million dollars. It was revealed when one of the participants alerted the FBI.
In 2010, the following products had game pieces:
Big Mac, Chicken McNuggets, Large French Fries, Medium Fountain Drinks, Medium and Large McCafe drinks, hash browns, McGriddles, Filet o Fish
Rare Piece information:
Mediterranean Avenue: $50
Vermont Avenue: $100
Virginia Avenue: $200 SpaWish Gift Certificate
Tennessee Avenue: $1,000
Kentucky Avenue: Beaches Resorts Vacation
Ventnor Avenue: $25,000
Pennsylvania Avenue: $50,000
Boardwalk: $1,000,000
In 2004, McDonalds also introduced an online counterpart. Each game piece lists a code which can be entered online, with a max of 10 per day. Each code granted a user one roll on a virtual Monopoly board, identical to the board games board. Rolling doubles, allowed a user to move again.
In 2010, the game was changed, removing the dice and the game board, presently only 3 Chance cards to pick from. One has a prize, such as 30 My Coke reward points, but there are other higher paying value prizes. Players choose one card, is asked if that is a choice the player wants to make and then the card is flipped. The odds of winning are based upon the time you enter the code and note the card you choose.
There are many websites dedicated strictly to the McDonalds Monopoly game. The odds of winning the big pieces are not in your favor though. For example in 2007, the odds of Boardwalk was 3 pieces. Pennsylvania Ave, 5 pieces, Ventnor Ave at 5 pieces. Basically its very hard to win as everyone is looking for those other coveted pieces.
McDonalds has been as dedicated as ever to making sure that its nutrition and health is excellent for everyone that eats at McDonalds. For example, they have created an everyday sample menu that meats and fits into a balanced 2,000 calorie daily diet.
Dietary guidelines refer to the patterns in eating. For example, the adult guideline between 20% and 35% of calories from fat applies to your calorie intake for our whole day and not from a single meal.
