Did you know that McDonalds delivery service exists? Yep.

Most common in New York City, McDonalds has a free delivery service.

McDonalds created in 1940, known as the McDonalds Bar B Que. Opened on Fourteenth and E streets in San Bernardino, California. This was your typical drive-in featuring a large menu and car hop service.

Fast forward its now 1949, French Fries have replaced potato chips on the menu. You can now also order a Milkshake. Yum!

Nope, there wasn’t a McDonalds delivery yet.

Now its 1955, Kroc has opened his first McDonalds in Des Plaines, Illinois on April 15. The red and white style tiled building with Golden Arches was designed by Stanley Meston. By 1965 there would be over 700 McDonalds throughout the United States.

In 1969, the famous McDonalds double arches was updated. The logo, now very familiar underwent a major change. Massive remodeling of restaurants was underway and the old red and white building were moved to the famous double Golden Arches.

Starting in 1975 McDonalds began to release and introduce the Breakfast menu. Including the infamous, Egg McMuffin which was created by owner and operator Herb Peterson of Santa Barbara.

In 1980, McDonalds celebrates its 25th anniversary. Celebrating the anniversary McDonalds opens internationally in Spain, Denmark, and the Philippines.

In 1987 McDonalds adds freshly tossed salads into the mix on May 15th.

International expansion continues with the opening of the 1992 Warsaw location. This opening created a new record for first day sales ever.

Franchised restaurants popped up throughout the world, including United States, Canada, Costa Rica, Panama, Japan, Netherlands, Germany, Australia, France, El Salvador.

Most McDonalds are designed for both counter service as well as drive through, with both an indoor and sometimes outdoor. Drive Thru, Auto-Mac, Pay and Drive and also the McDrive for some countries offer a expedited McDonalds experience.

McDrives are often near highways and don’t offer any sit down or counter service. While most highly dense cities opt for no drive through.

Recently McDonalds has introduced McCafe, a cafe styled accompaninment which is in the style of Starbucks. McCafe created by McDonalds Australia, started in Melbourne in 1993. Today most of the McDonalds in Australia also have McCafes in them as well.

McDonalds predominantly sells hamburgers, and various types of chicken sandwiches. They also offer french fries, soft drinks, breakfast items, and desserts. Most markets offer salads and vegetarian options as well. Portugal is the only country that offers soup. McDonalds will often deviate from the traditional menus to abide by countries standards and avoid taboos. Such as beef products in India. They also create specialized products, like the McRise in Indonesia.
